Claybury Park:
  • Edge of Claybury Pk: Pair of Stock Dove, doing a mating ritual involving lots of bowing to each other (Alan Hobson)

Five Oaks Lane Scrubland:

  • Grey Heron caught a slow worm and ate it by the pond on Willoughbys Hill, also a Moorhen there
  • pr Red Legged Partridge showing well on Forest Farm (nr Romford Rd), 3 Pheasant (2f, 1m)
  • Kestrel
  • Pied Wagtail
  • 10 Meadow Pipit (including 4 flight displaying males)
  • Green Woodpecker
  • beautiful male Stonechat in full summer plumage, 4 Blackbird, 3 singing Song Thrush, Robin, Dunnock, Wren, 5 Fieldfare, 2 Redwing
  • 2 Collared Dove, c20 Woodpigeon, pr Stock Dove
  • 2 prs Long Tailed Tit, 2 prs Great Tit, c10 Blue Tit
  • 2 singing Chaffinch, 2 singing Greenfinch
  • singing male Reed Bunting
Roding Valley Park, Woodford Bridge:
  • 4 Siskin, pair of Long-tailed Tits, 3 Goldfinches, Greenfinch, pair of Mute Swans, 2 Common Gulls, Lesser Black Backed Gull (Alan Hobson)
Valentines Park:
  • family of Egyptian Geese doing well (3 ducklings)
  • pr Little Grebe on the boating lake (Barbara J)
Wanstead Flats:
  • (07:00-08:30): 25 Skylarks (inc. 11 singing birds), 30 Meadow Pipits (inc. 3 song-flighting birds),
  • 9 Lesser Redpoll , 30+ Goldfinches (20+ in flock east end of Long Wood - NC),
  • 2 singing male Reed Buntings, (Tim Harris), Yellowhammer (north over Cat & Dog),
  • 7 Siskin, 2 Pied Wagtail, 16 Cormorant (over), 10 Redwing, 2 Grey Heron (1 Cat & Dog pond consuming frogs), 6 Stock Dove,
  • 2 Egyptian Goose, 3 Pochard, 7 Shoveler, 4 Gadwall, Greylag Goose, 2 Little Grebe,
  • Peregrine Falcon (south of flats going west) - 49 sp (NC)
Wanstead Park:
  • Coal Tit nr the grotto (Natalie Benajeh)
Woodford Green 'The Green':
  • 8 Mallard, 4 Canada Goose, 3 Moorhen
  • 10 Black Headed Gull
  • 3 Jackdaw, Jay
  • 2 singing Dunnock, 4 Great Tit, 4 Blue Tit, pr Long Tailed Tit, 3 Greenfinch, (DEH)
Woodford Green, House Sparrow Census:
  • Broadmead Road - 10 (all east of Chartaris Road), plus a singing Dunnock by the tube bridge.
