Fairlop Waters:

  • 2 Yellow Wagtails,
  • Blackcap, 8 Whitethroat, 2 Willow Warbler, 2 Linnet
  • Common Tern
  • 100+ Swifts, 4 Swallow, 4 Sand Martin (Bob Jenner)

Goodmayes, garden:

  • Grey Heron (over)
  • fledged Robins (see pic above)
  • Jay (Alex Blackman)

Redbridge, River Roding:

  • looking down the Roding from Red Bridge itself I saw one Little Egret fishing in shallow rapids and it caught three fish in the time I could stand the fumes from the road watching ! I suspect it was fishing for a nearby nest ( on the pumping station site possibly?)

Valentines Park:

  • Great Crested Grebes have now relocated their nest away from the Coots nest, after mass twig theft scandal, and are now sitting on 2 eggs.
  • 14 Swallows feeding (personal site record) (PHopkins)
  • Cormorant,
  • Grey Heron family (2 ad, 2 young)
  • 3 Mute Swan (pair on the baoting lake still nesting, singleton on the fish lake)
  • Canada Geese, family of 4 Egyptian Geese still all present and correct
  • Mallards, including the foster mum who still has 21 chicks of various ages, and another brood of 9 with their own mother.
  • Tufted Ducks, Moorhen, Coot
  • 5 Black Headed Gulls!
  • Feral Pigeons, 1 Stock Dove, 2 Colalred Doves, Woodpigeons,
  • 4 Swift
  • 2 Green Woodpecker
  • 2 Pied Wagtail
  • Wren, Dunnock, Robin, Song Thrush, Mistle Thrush, Blackbird
  • 2 Blackcap
  • Blue Tits, Great Tits, 4 Long Tailed Tits
  • Magpie, Carrion Crows, Starling
  • 7 House Sparow

South Park:

South Woodford:

Wanstead:

  • Cuckoo flew north over A12 by Wanstead station at 07:45 (WREN)

Wanstead Park:

  • 2 crested grebes, Coots, including with chicks, Canada geese, incl with goslings, Mallard, incl with ducklings, moorhen, little grebe, Swans - 2 pairs on/around nests
