Fairlop Waters CP:

  • first (extremely early) Swift of the year
  • Green Woodpecker

  • Cormorant
  • Canada Geese, 5 Greylag Geese
  • Chiffchaff, Wren (Tony Leaderman)

Fairlop Gravel Works:

  • 4 Shelduck, 25 Tufted Duck, 14 Shoveler, 9 Teal
  • 6 Snipe, 2 Redshank, 5 Lapwing, 2 Green Sandpiper
  • female Peregrine chasing a small bird
  • c10 Pied Wagtail, Meadow Pipit
  • 2 Linnet
  • male Reed Bunting singing
  • Song Thrush

Fairlop, Aldborough Riding School:

  • Little Owl in that tree!

Valentines Park:

  • pair of Grey Heron on nest
  • pair of Great Crested Grebe
  • pair of Green Woodpecker in a Cedar tree
  • 3 Mistle Thrush
  • Goldcrest (Barbara J)

Wanstead, Windsor Road:

  • Red Kite S/SE pursued by Crows at 2:25pm. Then flew over Wanstead Flats. The bird was also been seen over Leytonstone 5 mins earlier, and another (or possibly the same bird was south over Stewardstone Marsh at 11am) (JLethbridge)

Wanstead Park:

  • Water Rail still in the Dell
  • Grey Wagtail in the Dell
  • 3 singing Chiffchaff in the old sewage works
  • Great Crested Grebe on Perch Pond (THarris)
