Woodford Green:
  • Goldfinch family still active on Broadmead Estate

Wanstead Flats:

  • Wood Sandpiper, flushed from south side of Alexandra Lake at 5:50am, flew low east but could not be refound anywhere on the margins. Patch tick for me (basically any wader is a patch tick), well pleased.
  • 185 Canada Geese,
  • female Tufted with 4 ducklings,
  • Tawny Owl calling,
  • Kestrel,
  • 24 Jackdaw,
  • 2 Great Spotted Woodpecker,
  • 5 Green Woodpeckers,
  • 5 Jays (Jonathan Lethbridge)

Bush Wood:

  • male Hobby Calling (JL)

Gants Hill:

  • Alan & Tajinders garden
  • Coal Tit - Still present showing more plumage colour which suggest wasoriginally a juvenile.
  • Juv Great Spotted Woodpecker - Still present (slowly plumage on head is turning black revealing a red spot on back of crown which is a male).
  • Green finches - Juveniles & adults appearing in good numbers in garden.
  • Plus usual array of garden birds in good numbers.
