Reeds Forest:

  • Reeds Forest is the section of Epping Forest that surrounds Bancrofts School in Woodford.
  • 3 pairs of Stock Dove
  • An abundance of Blue Tits and Great Tits, 3 pairs of Long Tailed Tits.
  • 2 Coal Tits (singing) and a Goldcrest.
  • 2 Great Spotted Woodpeckers drumming.
  • Mistle Thrush, Magpie, Carrion Crow, Robin, Blackbird, Chaffinch, Wood Pigeon.

Woodford Bridge:

  • A pair of Canada Geese have now apparently taken up residence here. Also 30ish Mallard, and 4 Moorhen visible.

Woodford Green:

  • There was a pair of Canada Geese on the small pond outside Woodford Green United Church. and 3 on the island on the pond at the northern end of Johnston Road (with a few Mallards)

Wanstead Park:

  • 8 Little Grebe, 4 Mute Swan, 20+ Canada Geese, 12 Shoveler, Pair of Teal, 1 Pochard, 50+ Tufted Duck, 18 Gadwall, 50+ Mallard, 120+ Coot, 19 Moorhen. (Jonathan Lethbridge)
  • 100+ LBB Gulls, 2 Common Gull, (JL)
  • Female Sparrowhawk over Perch Pond (JL)
  • Stock Dove, 2 Collared Dove, 100+ Woodpigeon (JL)
  • 6 Great Spotted Woodpecker, 2 Green Woodpecker, Lesser Spotted Woodpecker. (JL)
  • 2 Song Thrush, 2 Mistle Thrush, 20 Blackbird, 8 Robin, 5 Dunnock, 5+ Wren (JL)
  • 5 Goldfinch, 3 Chaffinch, 4 Greenfinch, 3 Goldcrest, infinite Blue & Great Tits, 17 LT Tits (JL)
  • 2 Jackdaw, 20+ Crow, 25+ Magpie (J Lethbridge)
  • 1 or possibly 2 Kingfishers making a lot of noise on the River Roding (Paul Ferris)
  • 2 Mistle Thrushes round the Temple, 2 on the plain, and a 5th singing somewhere in the grove. (PF)
